The SuperMegaUltraMaxi Update

I have a ton of personal projects in the works, and I realize that it may be super confusing for you to keep up with all of them. Sometimes I myself have a hard time keeping up with the ones that don’t update online.

So, to make things easier for you and me, I’m making Wednesdays into a new feature,

The SuperMegaUltraMaxi Update!

That’s the working title, anyway. If you have suggestions for new titles, please leave them in the comments.

Today, and every Wednesday after, I’ll break this post down into the comics projects I’m doing and give an update on each one.

To start, let’s go with Validation.

Roxie Week is coming up again soon, plus I’m making new Mr. Dino related things for the Patreon (I teased about the new reward tier in this blog post).

Speaking of the Patreon, thank you SO MUCH to those of you who spend your money every month on Validation! Your support is amazing and appreciated and we hope to bring you more cool stuff soon.

Also! If you love the “In Her Wildest Dreams” image, it’s now available as a desktop background download on Gumroad.

That’ll be the last shameless plug in this post, but hopefully the desktop image download is a good option if you like Validation but aren’t rolling in cash.

Johnson & Sir!

On Saturday June 6 I finished production on the last pages of Johnson & Sir. But don’t worry! It will still update every Tuesday until the final page, Page 100.

Holy crap, 100 pages of a personal comics project. I never thought that Johnson & Sir would last this long. It’s crazy like banana pants!

The next steps now are to keep updating the webcomic every week and start making sketches for the Sketchbook PDF (it’ll be something like the Superhero Ladies Sketchbook currently on Gumroad). There will also be original art and comic pages for sale on Storenvy soon.

Already talked about this upcoming webcomic in this post.

Charlie & Clow

I’m getting ready to pitch Charlie & Clow to some comics publishers, but I need to finish the material I need to make for it.

If it gets picked up for publishing, that would be great!

If not, I have a few ideas for how to keep the webcomic going, like Patreon or maybe even a KickStarter. If this comic doesn’t get picked up by a publisher, I would LOVE to make this a webcomic that updates consistently, rather than having breaks between chapters.

The Traveler’s Road

“Claire and Tracy Encounter the Lion.”

It’s still a work in progress. The zombies (in this story they’re called the Hoard) designs are coming along, but I need to work on them again.

I’ve scripted up to Chapter 5, but had to take a break from it for a while. I need to go on a research trip because the story proper takes place in Pittsburgh and the area south of there, which is an area I haven’t visited for a long, LONG time. But right now, I don’t have plans to go on said research trip anytime soon.

The Uthers (Working Title)

I teased this one before on Twitter because at the time I was talking about how important it was to have an autistic lead character that actually had agency and wasn’t a prop or victim. (Yes, the lead character in this comic is an autistic young lady). I’ve scripted up to Chapter 4, and I finally found a design for the aliens, the Uthers, that I liked.

I would love to do more costume designs for it, though, seeing that it’s a post-apocalyptic setting where the aliens have successfully colonized the Earth. I would love to make designs that don’t look like every other post-apocalyptic work out right now.

I may take some inspiration from Tank Girl, with post-apoc mixed with punk, like an “Apunkalyptic” look. If you have any suggestions for post-apoc or punk works to check out, please leave them in the comments.

Rosetta and The Swan

This retelling of Swan Lake is on the back-burner.

I’ve solidified a few of the character designs, including the Woman of the Woods (above). Plus, I’ve scripted up to Chapter 2. But a few character designs need fixed and I need a solid visual look to it. So I’m going to do more research on Eastern European/Russian/Turkish art, costumes, etc.

The Legend of Jamie Roberts

This is a story about three pirates that end their contract with a notorious pirate captain and go searching for treasure in a land populated by dragons and ghosts.

Still making concept art for this one, especially for the Mocktaw and Uudre (the spirits that exist in this story’s universe) and editing Chapter 7, 8, and 9.

But to be honest, I’m stuck on this project. Of all the personal projects I have, this one isn’t even on the back burner – it’s been taken off the Stove of Creativity. I need to get the spark back for this one.

That’s all of the projects for now!

What did you think of this post? Have any suggestions for names for this new Wednesday feature? Know any post-apocalyptic or punk works I should check out? Please leave them in comments!

Thank you for reading.

You. Are. Awesome.
