Coming This Week…The Sticker of the Month Club!

A selection of stickers for the Sticker of the Month club.

Thank you to the fans on the latest livestream for helping to come up with this idea. Coming soon, (like, if all goes well, this should launch on July 2), the Sticker of the Month Club!

See, after that livestream, I had the thought, “Stickers were super popular at the Mini Pop-Up Event. Why not a Sticker of the Month Club?”

I did the math, and once I did, I thought, “HOLY BANANA PANTS, WHY DIDN’T THIS HAPPEN SOONER?”

Here’s what I want to do:

Each month, subscribers get a sticker in their mailboxes, along with a personalized thank-you note.

The cost? $10 a month for subscribers. That $10 will cover the sticker AND shipping/handling. (This price point is for USA patrons. There will be a separate tier for internationals). Subscribers also get access to my Tiny Dinos Discord server and shout-outs in the credits for KickStarter projects.

For fans who already give $10+ per month through Ko-Fi... Well good news! I can add you automatically to the Sticker of the Month Club if you’re interested! No need to go to a separate site to pledge.

My goals with the Sticker of the Month Club are:

  • to offer something cool and different to subscribers,
  • to engage with folks in a unique way,
  • to have new offerings at convention and author appearances,
  • to have another source of income so I don’t have to do (so many?) DoorDash shifts.

Now, let me answer some other questions:

Some folks had originally pitched a “T-shirt of the month club,” because another artist had some success with it. I want to address that real quick by saying: First, everyone and their brother does a T-shirt business. They’re oversaturated. To the point that a business educator told me once, “Don’t go into T-shirts.” I’d like to do something that stands out instead.

Also, T-shirts are not as environmentally sound as folks think they are. It takes a LOT of resources to make T-shirts, and despite the best efforts of lots of folks, most of them end up in landfills.

Not to mention, I live in a small apartment. I don’t have room to store extra shirts. And to folks who say, “Well, you could get a print-on-demand service to do it,” I’d rather not this time, for reasons I’ll get into in a second.

If you’re wondering, “Are you going to do the art AND the logistics?” Yes. I’ll make the art and mail these out to subscribers. I already have a printer for these stickers, because I’ve printed with them before and REALLY liked their quality and pricing. I also already track inventory for my convention appearances, so I’m comfortable with that step already. (Not to mention that I’m used to tracking customers – things that sound creepy, but aren’t – because of KickStarter reward fulfillment).

Plus, if I print extra stickers each month, I can post the remainder for sale on Ko-Fi and take them with me to conventions.

Should this idea EXPLODE, I’ll revisit this arrangement. But I’m comfortable with this idea. Right now, I don’t expect this Sticker of the Month Club to overtake The Legend of Jamie Roberts in popularity. I have the bandwidth to do both (especially since I don’t work at NeverEnding).

Excited? I hope so!

I’m announcing the official launch of the Sticker of the Month Club on my email newsletter when it’s ready, so if you want on board, go sign up to get the news first.

Like I said before, if you already give $10+ per month through Ko-Fi, I can add you to the Sticker of the Month Club automatically. Hit me up at kelcidcrawford@gmail.com if you want to sign up.

Broke? Share this news with your sticker-loving friends!

My Projects for The Rest of 2021

Last Saturday, on my livestream (which you can watch because it’s archived here), I announced a LOT of projects. To make the list more understandable, here’s the broad strokes.

Group 1: The Books

Last week I announced my departure from NeverEnding. For reasons listed here. Now that I have left, that means more time to fulfill KickStarter rewards.

So, yes! The Legend of Jamie Roberts, volume 1 will get done MUCH faster!

Less Than Secret: A Cryptid Anthology is coming together well. That said, this book is being handled by my comic buddies Ben and Rainer. So most of the production is out of my hands now.

I also have a small list of books I would LOVE to see released before the end of the year. So come back later for more info on those!

(Spoilers: A couple of them may be collaborations I’ve done with CB, co-creator of Validation. We’ll be collaborating on new projects soon!)

Group 2: The Illustrations

BreeBree Bootique is back, with a modified release schedule. Why?

Because Mr. Dino & Friends will be getting their own RedBubble store AND Instagram soon!

These two projects will have alternating release schedules: one Friday will have a new BreeBree Bootique design. The next Friday will have a Mr. Dino and Friends design. Then the cycle repeats.

Also, there are still large prints to make as part of my 2021 goals. One is already done (and you can watch me work on THAT in this archived stream). That leaves 4 more to go – and I will livestream working on those!

Group 3: The Everything Else

I’m ready to livestream on a regular schedule again! I had to take a break after the frenzy of promoting Less Than Secret. Now, livestreams will be coming back.

So be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel and hit that bell. I’ll be streaming every Saturday at 1 pm EDT. This weekend I’m streaming Clip Studio Paint Tips and Tricks.

As for other projects…well, there are new podcasts on the horizon. I’ll keep you posted as those shows come together. If you like tabletop RPGs, I hope you’ll stick around for these new podcasts.

Speaking of Tabletop RPGS…I’m putting together an NPC Compendium. This resource will be for all the game masters out there who need non-player characters to populate their worlds. Follow me on Instagram, Tumblr, Twitter, or Ko-Fi as I draw these characters!

And the Blog?

I’m updating this blog more often so you know how things are going! I hope you stick around.

(Or you can subscribe to my email newsletter. It’ll have updates on ALL of these projects at the end of each week.)

That’s all for now. Thank you for reading!

MAJOR Updates

Today at 1 pm EDT, I’m announcing some BIG changes! These changes include a new livestreaming schedule, new projects, and new storefronts.

Got questions? I’ll answer them LIVE!

Can’t watch it live? This stream will be archived here on this site and on my YouTube channel.

Thank you for watching!

I’m Leaving the NeverEnding Team

NeverEnding is a platform that lets users create characters for their tabletop RPG games and other stories. I signed on as the lead artist and character designer back in spring of 2020. And I will be leaving the team this Friday, May 21.

Why?

Well, there’s been some behind-the-scenes stuff going on. I don’t want to get too much into it here. Just know that my reasons for leaving have nothing to do with the team. I think NeverEnding has a great concept! And I hope they succeed, even with my departure.

That said, things have been…BANANAS. But in a good way!

Like, The Legend of Jamie Roberts, volume 1 AND Less Than Secret: A Cryptid Anthology both WILDLY succeeded on KickStarter. But…I still need to fulfill rewards.

Plus, well, my creative energies are being fulfilled elsewhere. At some point, working on stuff for NeverEnding stopped being fun. And I’ve made it a point in my life to work on things that are fun and fulfilling. Life’s too short to do otherwise.

I’ll be talking more about new projects on the horizon this Saturday, May 22. I’ll be livestreaming on YouTube at 1 pm EDT that day. So I hope you can make it! I’ll be sharing sneak peeks at the new things I’ve been working on.

It’s…bittersweet to be leaving NeverEnding. I’ve learned an awful lot working with the crew. And I’ve improved as an artist. (And oh sweet banana pants I have learned SO many new ways to use Clip Studio Paint, my drawing program of choice).

But it’s time that I sail away and go to new shores. You know what I mean?

I hope you’ll join me this Saturday on the livestream. If you do, you’ll see some of the new things coming soon!

Thank you for your understanding.

No New Streams for Two Weeks

thomas and jamie, the main characters of The Legend of Jamie Roberts, are asleep in their tent.

That’s right – there will be NO new streams for the next two weeks.

I am, as experts would say, VERY tired.

After back-to-back-to-back KickStarter campaigns – one of which I did two streams a week for – I need a break.

Other Project Updates

The Legend of Jamie Roberts will still update once a week on Wednesdays. Plus the email newsletter will still send out once a week on Fridays.

I had new designs for BreeBree Bootique on hiatus for April (because of the KickStarter madness). New designs will be coming next week.

Other than that? Don’t expect too much of a peep from me, except for KickStarter updates. I’m still making things to fulfill rewards.

So When Will Streams Come Back?

No solid dates yet. But I’m thinking…sometime around May 22nd maybe? I have a big announcement to make around that weekend.

….And that’s all I’ve got for now! Thanks for reading, and for your understanding.
