Inktober 2021, Days 4 through 10

Inktober is an artist challenge to draw in ink daily in October. This year, I’m drawing a panel a day for a new story. Be sure to read the first 3 days here. And now, Days 4 through 10…

Inktober IS Happening This Year!

Remember how I said I wouldn’t do Inktober in this previous check-in post? Well, Inktober IS happening!

I got inspired by vigoburrito and their webcomic, The Divine Intervention. They drew that comic one panel at a time and posted it on Instagram.

So I thought, “What if I drew a comic one panel at a time for Inktober?”

Here’s what’s been drawn as of yesterday, October 3rd:

inktober 2021 panel 2
inktober 2021 panel 3
inktober 2021 panel 4

Yup! I’m drawing witch kitties – like from Kitties By Kelci on RedBubble.

What will happen next? Be sure to tune in on my Instagram! I’ll also post once a week here on the blog with updates.

Because of Inktober (and other work), I’ll be updating this blog less frequently. Just once a week for now. But know that other projects (like KickStarter fulfillment and commissions) are coming along.

That’s all for now. Thank you for reading!

Vote for October’s Sticker of the Month Pick

time to vote for October's sticker of the month! Two options are presented in black silhouette.

If you’re new around here: I made my Patreon page into a Sticker of the Month club. Today, I opened the polls, so folks can vote for October’s sticker.

Votes will be tallied between today and October 6. But ONLY Patrons can vote for the design. So if you want to vote, head to Patreon and sign up. $1 a month gets you the vote (plus access to my Discord server, Tiny Dinos). $10 a month will get you the sticker in your mailbox each month.

Broke? That’s ok – share the club with friends who love stickers! Every share helps.

That’s all for now. Thanks for checking this out!

Away From Keyboard, Be Back Soon

I need to be away from the keyboard for a few days, but I’ll be back soon.

Why? First, I seem to have come down with a cold a few days ago. And it won’t leave. So I’m resting as much as I can.

Second, I’m out of town this weekend to check on my family. The catch is, my family lives in an area with no cell signal or internet. So I won’t be able to answer emails or direct messages, much less post content.

SOME posts here on this blog, The Legend of Jamie Roberts’ site, and Patreon will be scheduled ahead of time. But for posts on Ko-Fi and Instagram, those will not be scheduled.

For folks waiting on commissions, especially from KickStarter campaigns: I’ll work on your requests between naps. They’ll get done. Just…slowly.

Thank you for your patience.

The Dragon Mage

the dragon mage illustration. This piece pictures a young woman in a sports bra and skirt sitting on a cushion with her hands up and cupping ethereal smoke. The smoke lingers before her in the shape of a dragon head. The trail of the dragon smoke twists on the canvas until it trails back to its source - an open teapot.

I’m surprised I never posted this on the blog before. But here she is – The Dragon Mage.

The Dragon Mage is available as a hi-resolution download! But only for Ko-Fi supporters and Patreon patrons. I’ve been posting hi-res downloads for supporters, and I plan on keeping that up.

But maybe there will be more art like this? I’m thinking about it…

If you’re curious, The Dragon Mage is drawn with fine line markers, a brush marker, and color Copic markers. I really like the simplified color palette here.

That’s all I have for now. But maybe there will be more art like this in the future? We’ll see.
