The Future of Comicons: A Livestream Panel

the future of comicons youtube thumbnail

SATURDAY, July 25. 1 pm to 3 pm EST. On my YouTube Channel.

Join us as my buddies Ben WH and C. Beranek and I discuss the future of comicons. All 3 of us have been a part of the comicon scene for years, as vendors and attendees. With everything that’s happening right now, we’ll be discussing our ideas of what the future could look like.

What do you think will be the future of comicons? What would you like to see happen? Let us know in the comments!

New Home, New LiveStream

Now that I’m settled in my new home, it’s time for a new livestream – which is available for replay!

I’m running a giveaway with this video: leave a like AND a comment on YouTube. When the video reaches 20 likes, I will giveaway the Charlie & Clow comics trilogy FREE to a lucky viewer!

You have until JUNE 12 to participate in the giveaway.

Here’s some links to things that got shout-outs in the stream:

8Can’tWait – for folks who are comfortable with making phone calls to elected officials. This one is calling for police department reforms that are proven to reduce violence.

A List of My Favorite Black Creators. This will be updated over time. It includes visual artists, YouTubers, and musicians.

Jungle Jordan. If you want wholesome content featuring a black man talking about wild animals, this is the channel for you. He is just precious.

Vigo Burrito on Instagram draws a webcomic called Growing Up Gerudo. If you’ve ever asked yourself, “What if Ganondorf from Legend of Zelda was more of a dad?” then read this.

Stay tuned for giveaway updates AND a new blog post on Monday.

Thanks for watching!

Genghis Con Prep Time

It’s time for another livestream!

Today I trim minicomics for Genghis Con, while also talking about everything from freelancing (and what my freelance streams of income are); to goals I have for Fantasyville Productions.

The next stream will be Wednesday, December 4 at 1 pm EST. I’ll try to keep the stream short next time – I realize now that if I stream for more than an hour and a half, the first chunk of the stream gets cut off. That means that people who later watch the video as just a video will miss the first chunk.

You may notice that the livestream date for next week is on a Wednesday – that’s because I’m out of town the following weekend to visit friends (and go apartment touring) in the Toledo area.

That’s all for now. See you next week!

OR, if you’re in the Cleveland, OH area, I’ll see you TOMORROW for Genghis Con.

Thank you for watching!

My First LiveStream (Holy Banana Pants)!

If you missed my first ever livestream on YouTube, no worries! There were a few technical issues when I first got it streaming, but I’ve learned for next time.

However, here’s the stream again for your viewing pleasure as just a video.

The next livestream will air on YouTube next Saturday, November 30 at 1 pm EST. Use this time zone converter to figure out what time that is for you.

(I’ve also learned, after watching the stream back over, that I need to actually share what I’m doing on the screen. So please excuse me for showing mostly my face the entire time. Next stream it will go better.)

Thank you for watching!

You. Are. Awesome.

LiveStream This Saturday (If All Goes Well)

You read right – there will be a LiveStream this Saturday!

I found an app called StreamYard that should work. I would use Twitch, but I don’t have the camera set-up or microphones for that sort of thing.

(Also Twitch is linked with Twitter and I refuse to return to that hellscape of a platform. I have better things to do with my life.)

So I’m using StreamYard to livestream on both YouTube AND Facebook at the same time. (Because it can do that, apparently.) If for some reason I didn’t set it up right, the stream should, for sure, air on YouTube at least.

The stream will air on YouTube (and Facebook, if I did it right), THIS SATURDAY, Nov. 23 at 1 pm EST.

I’ll be sharing my screen as I work, while also answering any questions you may have for me.

Be sure to add this to your calendar, and hit the notification bell on YouTube.

I hope to see you there!

Thank you for reading.

You. Are. Awesome.
