As Time Passes With the Beat: An Original Song

Today’s video features not only two watercolor paintings and a Thoughtful Dinosaur comic strip I’m making, but it also features a song I made.

This is the first song I’ve ever composed and made using a program called LMMS. The program is free to download if you want to give it a try for yourself.

Keep in mind, my musical background is from my days playing Taiko. If you want an idea of the kinds of songs I performed, here’s an example from a troupe I was a part of. That’s why, for the first song, it’s pretty much exclusively drum sounds.

Why am I painting two watercolor paintings? Find out…NEXT TIME.

Thanks for listening.

I’m a fan of mini things, like minicomics. That’s why I make so many of them – they’re small, fun, and easy to make.

Turns out, miniprints are easy to make, too.

What’s a miniprint? Well it’s a print (like a poster), but small – like 5 inches by 7 inches, or even as small as 4 inches by 6 inches. They’re not postcards, but they’re the size of one. Continue reading “Introducing the MiniPrint”

I’m Going to RathaCon

Oh hey, a super short video update to let you know I’m going to RathaCon this weekend in Athens, OH.

I went to RathaCon last year and it was a lot of fun. They asked me to come back again this year, to which I said, “OF FREAKING COURSE,” and if you’re in the area, you can see me May 7th and 8th at the Athens Community Center.

Hope to see you there!

If you can’t make it, you can still pre-order the first issue of Charlie & Clow. Patrons of Validation also get a cool little bonus.

Thanks for watching and reading!

The Legend of Jamie Roberts is just one comic I’m working on, but I’m at the point in development that I can come up with more solid ideas about character designs, monster designs, environments, and the like.

However, I needed to also distinguish something important in the narrative – the spiritual elements. Continue reading “Comic Page Design for The Legend of Jamie Roberts”
