watercolor personal illustration project

By the title of this blog post, I don’t mean the “sick” that means “cool,” I mean the sick like “I am in pain and I don’t know why.”

I’ve been sick off and on for a few months. Usually it’s not bad but lately it’s been AWFUL. It’s gotten to where certain food are DESPERATELY TRYING TO KILL ME.

On Monday I woke up with severe stomach pain. I had to go get an X-Ray before my current insurance ran out and before the new insurance kicked in (by the way, I live in the United States of ‘MURICA, land of the hypochondriacs and where healthcare is, apparently, a privilege for some and not a right for all).

I’m not quite sure what’s going on with my body. I know the symptoms (which I am NOT going to list here), and I think I have either IBS or Diverticulitis. Both diseases run in my family and these sorts of things are genetic, so I don’t doubt if either (or both?) is true.

Of the two, though, I would MUCH rather have IBS because the symptoms are milder in comparison to diverticulitis, and are much more manageable. Diverticulitis is much nastier and involves vomiting, which I would rather not do. I like my food to move through my body and out the right end – although now my food is stuck and is NOT moving.

I still haven’t gotten the results of the x-rays back, which is a bit silly because they should have been ready by yesterday. I’m going to talk to my doctor soon.

In the meantime, I’m going to try and take it easy, but I also have a new convention to get ready for – Youngstown Indie Comics Expo!

There’s more info at their site, but to sum it up, it’s September 13th at Austintown Comfort Inn, OH. If you can make it there, I’ll have new prints (including a Mr. Dino print!), new mini-prints and mini-comics, and original art for sale. I hope you can make it!

Hopefully by then I’ll be back to being physically ok.

Thank you for reading!

You. Are. Awesome.
